We are NOT a nation of 6 year old girls playing with plastic dolls & sipping juicy juice on our pink carpet. We like our apartments to have hardwood flooring & our cups to be full of liquor. This is a call for all bands to man up & stop using prissy little names like pony, why don't you try fitting stallion into your name?

On a more fitting note it is just confusing having so many of you. What if you got to the wrong venue at sxsw next year because you think you're going to see ponypants but instead you show up to PONEY PONEY? Think about what a horrible disappointment that would be.

MD 20/20 GAME 4

So, Wednesday night's game was a bit of a bust, the Mad Decent 20/20s lost to a couple of waiters (or busboys, no one is quite sure.) We made a Mad Dog shaped cake, but we quietly slipped it out the back after the loss, the boys weren't really in the mood for sweets after such a crushing defeat.

The Mad Decent boys need to learn how to pass the ball and go in for simple lay-ups (I was the captain of my middle school basketball team, I know these things), because if Wednesday night was any clue, even the best DJs in the world can't sink every three-pointer.

The game was an eye opener and hopefully it will pump up the 20/20s so they can squash the reigning champs 'The Krunassers' (I agree DSJ that is a stupid name) in next weeks game.

We'll bring a cake or two because we believe in you kids and we're sure you'll get your game back just like the Charles Barkley did in the end of Space Jam, except this time I'm pretty sure there's no magical basketball to save your asses.

Halloween is just around the corner. And that means what? Partying the entire week before October 31st? Well... maybe only for some of us. The Jang before Halloween will definitely be a costume edition. Plus there's this:

We'll be baking for this (although, it may only be for the VIP section - details haven't been discussed yet).

Also, this Jang will have a guest performance from Hot Tub.
And it's going to be a long awaited homecoming for our boys [Plastic Little]. They get home tomorrow evening! YAY!

So we've been back in town for 2 weeks now, but we're finally coming out of our drunken stupor/hibernation we've been in for those past 2 weeks.

A few of you have seen us around - we brought lemon cakes to a Megawords video event last week, and there were chocolate and caramel cakes as well as blueberry muffins at the last Jang House.

But TOMORROW you should stop by Deep Sleep for a little shindig. We'll be bringing some treats and hanging out around 8pm (I'll post more info once I know more about the event.)

So we're on vacation

As most of you know, we are currently in the Los Angeles area for a much needed vacation.

So far so good - a good amount of riding in Long Beach, Huntington, and Hollywood (either tomorrow or the next day).

But for those of you back home: this week was Jang House's first week of partnering up with Scion and iheartcomix. And next week will be with Nine Lives the Cat - so you should all go out Monday night and get your jang on.

Looking to the future

Yeah, yeah - we skipped out on Jang House this Monday for a short vaca in Brigantine. We romped around the boardwalk of Ocean City, and got to ride this little skate park in Brigantine. Plus we watched a bunch of CSI and ate a lot of mozzarella. Overall it was a much needed and well worth it break.

If you haven't already heard (then you must be really out of the loop), this Sunday is the Mausoleum's one-year party. The dipper and his bud skream will be "rocking with all you amazing philly party people!". We'll probably be there sans baked treats, but who knows - we may be packin' cookies for those of you who ask nicely.

Then the next day is (of course) Jang House! and this week we have Nate Day gracing us with his presence

Summer Vacation!

The Royal Bakers would like to send their apologies to who ever reads our blog
(obviously we have a special love for those of you who even look at this.... as it is a tad bit boring)

So here's the deal: We're sorry for the lack of cupcake/muffin/cookie love around the city.

Due to recent happenings, the two of us have been not as up-to-par on the quantity of cupcakes about town.
our new decisions are like so:
-no more going out on weekends (except in very special cases)
-just baking less due to the fact that a house with no AC and a 350 degree oven is not a friendly environment
-when it's so darn hot out, people really don't want baked goods while they're drinking up a storm
-we're in the process of coming up with new, more innovative baked goodies (stuff with substance is always good for drunk aging hipsters.... or even the not-so-aging)
-ALSO we've been skipping town a bunch, b/c that's what summer's for!

But do not fret my carb-loving alcoholic friends: the Royal Bakers are not going away in the slightest.
Basically, I'm just saying that it's summer - so don't count on us.

Also.... from August 27th to September 10th we shall be in sunny Los Angeles - celebrating the last of summer, and showing the W.Coast what muthafuckinphiladelphia is made of.
So if you will be there as well, or around the area (no, SF is nowhere near LA) - holla acha girls.

Friday night was funny - although, popular consensus, the parties were weird.

We had a bunch of different stuff at PedX. Then we headed out to the Barbary for the Vice/Colt 45 party (which was a pretty good time - despite the random crowd)

Anyways - moving on to better things:
Tomorrow night is yet again MONDAY, which means JANG HOUSE (the official Royal Bakers' home away from home) at the Barbary.

This week, Prince Terrance (of Hearts Revolution) and Dimitry will be guest DJing.

And of course we have our residents: Spank Rock, RNDW, Emily Rabbit, Baby Ian, and Siyoung

Jang House - Birthday Style

This Monday was good. It was Aileen's birthday Jang House.

At midnight we busted out the cupcake mountain/tower and Aileen was escorted downstairs in her birthday outfit of silver lamé hot shorts and a dinosaur towel.

Uncle Ron and Lenyon both took a bunch of pictures - and I'll be sure to post those up as soon as I get my hands on 'em.

UPCOMING STUFF:
-4th of July = The relocation/opening party for Pedestrian [3rd & South st., now on 3rd just North of South]. There will be TONS of patriotic goodies baked by yours truly.
-4th of July (later) = the Vice/Colt 45 party at the Barbary (with The Deathset, Matt & Kim, and the 4AM DJs)... There'll be patriotic treats here too, and come on people -muthafuckindeathset!!

Here's the recent happs:

this week has been a whirlwind of fun

Last Friday was Turnaround vs. Immediate - with lemon and chocolate sandwich cupcakes

Then Monday was Jang House, where we brought swirl and german chocolate jawns

Last night = Crescendolls and strawberry shortcake cupcakes

And Saturday night will be Live Forever, baked goods TBA.

Yes, yes - last night was once again the Jang House.

It was quite the affair too. The Death Set was there to perform, and our boys Plastic Little raised the roof so to say.

Most importantly, we made sandwich cupcakes - chocolate with all sorts of frostings on the inside, and carrot cake with a butter cream filling.

oh - and it was Jah's birthday.... but no one told us ahead of time, so here's his impromptu bday cake (complete with cigarette candle).

...we had a test-run for icecream cupcakes. So far, so good.

With all the extra batter we got a little creative:

1. We made about a dozen cupcakes for a friend, Anthony K's, art opening at The Bean - those seemed to go over pretty well:

2. since we were test-running on how high to fill each cup for the ice cream cupcakes, we subsequently ended up with quite a bit of tiny half-cupcakes. These all got turned into oreo cupcakes. originally there were going to go to the Khyber for Jacci's dj night with guest dj, Steven Bloodbath, BUT I had a headache and they instead were hand-delivered to bike messies earlier today.

3. believe it or not - we still had a tidbit of mix left, so we made or roommate a mini cake with frostinn'n'sprinkles [it was our thank you for fixing the lock on our front door, yay!]

Ya know, Em, the "Jang House Super Star". In other words the party's gonna be wild, the girls are gonna get crazy, and we'll all be rolling deep with motorcycles, cocaine, and a pit bull - we're plannin' to take all you bitches to the bone zone.

But on a more serious note: there should be some bbq, strawberry shortcake cupcakes, and possibly some cornbread (if your lucky.... well, if you're Mikey).

Oh god, it's already been a week

So this last week has been crazy. Although not much baking has gotten done...

FRIDAY was the Hail Social Remixes Party at Medusa. We baked a bunch of cupcakes for it actually, and then realized that we had run out of cellophane and ziplock bags... so Aileen rode with just a dozen cupcakes in one hand (still in the baking tray). Long story short - Aileen ran into a road barrier that night & Benny didn't get his cupcakes.

SATURDAY was Live Forever at the Barbary. We didn't bake for this one - but we would've if someone had clued us in that it was Michael Vincent Patrick's birthday.

MONDAY was of course Jang House. I'm still not sure who's idea it was on Saturday - but we made choclate and vanilla swirl cupcakes.

One last thing - next monday is everyone's favorite girl, Em's birthday! The party should be good times, with a little pregame bbq. And keep an eye out for some strawberry shortcake cupcakes.

Well, sort of.

Some news for the coming weeks:

The Royal Bakers are officially sponsoring Plastic Little the weekend of May 3rd and 4th in Ohio... or is it that they're sponsoring us? I'm not really sure, all I know is that it's gonna be a crazy-ass road trip, with probably far too many pit stops for White Castle, slurpees, and cigarettes .
Then the next weekend we'll be catering the Mother's Day brunch at Topstitch. By "catering" I mean there will be a vast assortment of baked goodies made by yours truly for the occasion.

And as usual, keep an eye out - rumor has it there will be more blueberry muffins at Jang House next week!

Tonight we're copping out and just putting together a small assorted platter

*The platter consists of "Too Black for B.E.T." cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing [Steve's favorite!] and some colorful sprinkles, as well as a few chocolate muffins thrown in just for kicks.

This weekend we got distracted by bike stuff [i.e. Fast Fridays, R.E.Load 8th annual April Fool's "fun ride" edition].

These little beauties were made for the Too Black For BET release party at the Madsoleum/Mad Decent Mausoleum/The Mausoleum/12th and Spring Garden - they're too black cupcakes!

Sadly, they never made it there. They're still atop the fridge - out of the reach of our newest enemies, the cupcake bandits (i.e. the puppies we are babysitting that helped themselves to about eighteen cupcakes/cornbread/muffins earlier this week) - I think they'll be saved for a Wednesday night picnic.
